BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) recognized two Grambling State University women's soccer standouts on Wednesday, as
Alana Aiken was named Offensive Player of the Week and
Cariana Pou earned Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The duo received the recognition following their standout performances in Grambling State's 3-0 victory over Hampton.
Aiken had a career performance, recording a hat trick to power the Tigers attack.
She opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a penalty kick and added two second-half goals, including finishes assisted by
Liana Bryant and
Whitney Walker.
Pou anchored the Grambling State defense, delivering a commanding performance on the backline.
She limited Hampton's offensive opportunities and helped hold the Pirates to just two shots on goal across 90 minutes of play.
Her presence ensured the Tigers secured their second clean sheet of the season.
