BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has named Grambling State University's
Alayna Howard its Volleyball Setter of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
Howard earned the honor after turning in a string of strong performances for the Lady Tigers across three matches at the Southland/SWAC Challege.
She was a consistent presence on the attack and at the net, posting 68 total assists over the weekend.
Howard handed out 23 assists in Grambling State's three-set contest against Nicholls and followed with a season-high 27 assists against New Orleans.
She also added two kills and a pair of block assists.
Her impact extended beyond setting as she finished the stretch with eight kills, 16 digs, and two service aces.
Howard's steady play powered the Lady Tigers offense and highlighted her ability to contribute across multiple phases of the game.
