GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University volleyball team came up short in its midweek matchup, falling 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-12) to Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night inside the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Lady Tigers (1-9) showed their fight in the second set, keeping the pressure on the Lady Bulldogs (7-7), but couldn't quite pull away late.
Louisiana Tech's efficiency at the net proved to be the difference, as they closed the match with a .298 hitting percentage.
Ra'Niya Brown powered the GSU offense with eight kills and a match-best four service aces, while
Rihianna Brown added four kills and four blocks at the net.Â
Morgan Munro chipped in three kills, and setters
Alayna Howard and
Reece Cook combined for 17 assists.Â
Defensively, Howard and
Denver Watkins each tallied lead in digs to anchor the back row.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Grambling hung tight early, but a late surge from Louisiana Tech stretched the margin as the Lady Tigers dropped the opener, 25-18.
Set 2: GSU found its rhythm behind
Ra'Niya Brown's serving and Munro's kills, battling point-for-point before LA Tech edged out the frame, 26-24.
Set 3: The Lady Techsters carried their momentum, hitting .577 in the final frame to seal the sweep with a 25-12 decision.
