BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) has named Grambling State University's Rihianna Brown the Co-Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Brown earned the honor after a series of standout performances for the Lady Tigers. 

She competed in three matches, including two at the Southern Mississippi Invitational and a home contest on Willis Reed Court inside the Frederick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

She was a force at the net throughout the week. 

Brown finished with 18 total kills and posted a hitting percentage above .500 in two of the three matches. 

She also added five block assists, making her presence felt on both offense and defense.
