BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team rolled past South Carolina State 4-0 on Monday afternoon at Wenonah High School.
The Lady Tigers (3-6-2) struck quickly and never looked back, scoring three first-half goals before sealing the shutout in the second half.
Giulia Altomare opened the scoring just 63 seconds into the match, finishing a setup from
Taya Sands for a 1-0 lead.
Nyla Dore-Anderson doubled the advantage in the 20th minute off an assist from
Cariana Pou, and
Alana Aiken buried a goal less than three minutes later on a feed from
Liana Bryant.
Olivia Kowall capped the scoring in the 71st minute, slotting home a goal assisted by
Chloe Bryant to make it 4-0.
Grambling dominated the stat sheet, outshooting the Bulldogs 15-1, including an 11-1 edge in shots on goal.
The Lady Tigers also earned six corner kicks to South Carolina State's one.
Goalkeepers
Jaliyah Clark and
Kaia Bace combined for the shutout, with Clark making one save in the first half.
South Carolina State (2-10) struggled to generate chances, managing only one shot.
