HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Grambling State volleyball showed fight in each set but ultimately fell 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-21) to Alabama A&M on Sunday afternoon inside Elmore Gymnasium.
The Lady Tigers (1-11, 0-2 SWAC) were led offensively by
Kenya Lucas with 10 kills, while
Rihianna Brown added nine.
Setter
Alayna Howard recorded 14 assists and nine digs, with
Leisey Keli'i pacing the back row with 10 digs.
For Alabama A&M (10-3, 1-0 SWAC), Rayishon Jackman dominated with 17 kills and seven digs, while Fatima Ramirez and Sana Dennis chipped in eight apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1:Â Grambling overcame an early 6-3 deficit with a 7-1 run fueled by kills from
Kenya Lucas and
Jaida Gray, surging ahead 13-8. The Lady Tigers extended their lead to 20-15 after back-to-back kills by Lucas. Alabama A&M came back late, capitalizing on GSU attack errors and a service ace by Briana Smith to tie the frame at 24-all. The Bulldogs closed out the set with a 26-24 win.
Set 2 : The Lady Tigers opened with energy, highlighted by a Lucas kill to tie the frame at 7-7. However, Alabama A&M found its rhythm from the service line as Kelani Talakai and Ramirez delivered key aces. The Bulldogs hit .400 in the set and used a 7-2 scoring run to pull away late, securing a 25-17 win.
Set 3 : GSU started strong, building an 11-8 lead behind kills from Brown and Lucas. The Bulldogs responded with a 7-2 stretch to reclaim control at 20-18. Grambling tied things late on a Brown kill, but consecutive kills by Jackman and a service ace by Talakai sealed the sweep for AAMU.
