Grambling State Falls 3-0 on the Road at Northwestern State

NATCHITOCHES, La. | Grambling State women's soccer battled on the road Thursday evening but fell 3-0 to Northwestern State at the Lady Demon Soccer Complex.

With the result, Grambling drops to 2-3-1 on the season while Northwestern State improves to 4-1-1.

The Lady Demons opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Emily Senatore converted a penalty kick to make it 1-0. 

Northwestern State doubled its lead in the 35th minute when Riley Stern finished a goal.

Grambling looked to respond in the second half but Northwestern State added to its advantage in the 53rd minute. 

Senatore set up Hosane Soukou, who scored a goal to extend the lead to 3-0.

Despite generating 12 total shots iincluding eight after halftime, the Tigers were unable to find the back of the net. 

Goalkeeper Kaia Bace finished with four saves.

  • Northwestern State attempted 19 shots, placing seven on target.

Grambling State returns home to face Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at the GSU Soccer Complex.
