GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State delivered a strong all-around performance Saturday afternoon, pulling away in the second half to earn an 85–60 victory over Prairie View A&M in Southwestern Athletic Conference action inside the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Tigers set the tone early jumping out to a 24–11 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and defensive pressure.
Prairie View responded in the second quarter, outscoring Grambling 20–17 to cut the deficit to 41–31 at halftime.
Grambling regained control coming out of the break, holding Prairie View to nine points in the third quarter while extending its lead to 63–40.
The Tigers continued to apply pressure in the fourth quarter matching Prairie View point-for-point to secure the 25-point victory.
Shaniah Nunn had 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting while adding seven rebounds.
Monica Marsh followed with 14 points, and
Jakiylah Esco recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Arianna Mosley also reached double figures finishing with 10 points.
