GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University delivered a dominant performance Monday evening, rolling to an 84–59 Southwestern Athletic Conference victory over Mississippi Valley State inside the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
Grambling State set the tone early building a 19–10 advantage after the opening quarter.
The Lady Tigers maintained control in the second period and carried a 31–26 lead into halftime.
Grambling State created separation in the third quarter, erupting for 27 points while shooting a blistering 84.6 percent from the field to extend the margin to 58–41 entering the final frame.
The Lady Tigers continued to pull away in the fourth quarter outscoring Mississippi Valley State 26–18 to secure the 25-point conference victory.
Shaniah Nunn paced Grambling State with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds.
Arianna Mosley added 13 points, while
Alieghya Bartholomew chipped in 10 points and four steals.
Monica Marsh provided a spark off the bench with 11 points helping Grambling State's reserves total 35 points in the win.
Grambling State shot 41.6 percent from the field and dominated the paint, holding a 46–32 scoring edge inside.
Mississippi Valley State was led by Sydnei Marshall who finished with 17 points while Jaeda Murphy added 14.
