BATON ROUGE, La. | The Grambling State Tigers softball team fell to Southern 10–0 in six innings on Friday evening at Lady Jaguar Field.
Southern struck first in the second inning when Katiana Maldonado stole home to give the Jaguars a 1–0 lead.
The Jaguars broke the game open in the third inning, scoring four runs to take control of the contest.
Abigail Mitchell started the rally with an RBI double down the left field line before Maldonado followed with an RBI single.
Jaciee Massey added another run-scoring single, while an error allowed another run to cross the plate to push the lead to 6–0.
The Jaguars sealed the victory in the sixth inning when Mitchell launched a three-run homer to left field, giving Southern the 10–0 win.
Grambling State recorded five hits in the contest.
Logan-Ray Gaspar led the Tigers with a double.

Kamryn Broussard,
Ziya Donaldson and
Z'Natria Evans each added a hit.
Jaidan Richard took the loss in the circle for Grambling State after allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits across three innings of work.
Hailei Harrell pitched 2.1 innings in relief, giving up four runs while striking out two.
Aaliyah Zabala earned the win for Southern after tossing six shutout innings allowing five hits while striking out two.
