PRAIRIE VIEW, TX. | The Grambling State Tigers softball team dropped the series opener to Prairie View A&M, 19–1 on Friday afternoon.
Grambling State struck first in the opening inning when
Cadashia Collins delivered an RBI single allowing
Ahsunte' Specks to score for a 1–0 lead.
Prairie View A&M answered with a dominant response in the bottom half erupting for 10 runs in the first inning to take control of the game.
The Panthers continued to add on with seven runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to seal the run-rule victory.
Specks led Grambling State at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and two stolen bases.
Collins also finished with two hits and an RBI while
Logan-Ray Gaspar added two hits.
Hailei Harrell took the loss in the circle, allowing 10 runs in one inning of work.
Shunese Specks pitched three innings in relief.
