BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Grambling State women's basketball standout
Shaniah Nunn earned First Team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) honors, the league announced Friday.
Nunn delivered an outstanding season for Grambling State emerging as one of the most complete players in the conference.
The senior averaged 12.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the field across 31 games for the Lady Tigers.
A dominant presence on the glass, Nunn led the SWAC in rebounding pulling down 245 total rebounds with 93 offensive rebounds and 152 defensive rebounds.
Nunn also ranked among the SWAC's top scorers, finishing eighth in the conference in scoring with 379 total points.
Defensively, she remained active throughout the year recording 56 steals which ranked seventh in the SWAC while adding 19 blocks.
Her all-around production made her one of the league's most reliable performers and a key contributor for the Lady Tigers on both ends of the floor throughout conference play.
Grambling State now turns its attention to postseason play as the No. 6 seed in the SWAC Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Lady Tigers will face No. 3 Alabama State on Thursday, March 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. All the action will be streamed live on ESPN+.
