Louisiana Drug-Free School Zone Law Update
Effective August 1, 2026, Louisiana's updated Drug-Free School Zone Law expands enhanced criminal penalties for certain controlled dangerous substance offenses occurring:
- On college or university property
- Within 2,000 feet of campus property
- On a school bus
Because Grambling State University is included under the law, the 2,000-foot zone may extend beyond campus to nearby streets, sidewalks, parking areas, businesses, and residential neighborhoods.
The law applies to everyone in the designated area, including students, employees, contractors, vendors, alumni, visitors, and guests. Violations may result in criminal charges, including enhanced fines and imprisonment, depending on the offense.
In addition to criminal penalties, violations may also result in University disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct or applicable employee policies.
Grambling State University encourages all members of the campus community to stay informed, make responsible decisions, and help maintain a safe, law-abiding campus environment.
ALCOHOL GUIDELINES
Lawful consumption of alcohol and cereal malt beverages is permitted in designated parking lots adjacent to the stadium.
- The sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
- Underage drinking is unlawful and violators will be cited.
- Alcohol must be consumed from cups or containers. Glass containers are prohibited.

Fourth Quarter Traffic & Egress Plan

exit-only traffic:
- College Street
- Cole Street
- Ballock Street
- Doug Williams Street
Traffic exiting via
Ballock Street and Doug Williams Street will be directed toward
U.S. Highway 80.
To improve traffic flow and expedite the clearing of vehicles from the stadium area,
Central Street will be closed to through traffic during post-game egress operations.
Traffic exiting via
Cole Street and College Street will be directed toward
Interstate 20 (I-20).
Due to the high volume of spectators, tailgaters, RVs, and vehicles associated with game-day activities, motorists should anticipate delays. Depending on attendance and overall traffic volume, it may take approximately
30 minutes to one hour for traffic in and around the stadium area to clear.
The stadium has an approximate seating capacity of
19,600 spectators. This figure does not include individuals participating in surrounding
tailgating activities or RV parking, which may significantly increase the total number of people and vehicles within the event area.
The primary objective of this traffic plan is to provide a safe, orderly, and efficient movement of vehicles away from the stadium while maintaining emergency access and minimizing congestion on surrounding roadways.
IMPORTANT PARKING REMINDERS
THERE IS NO RE-ENTRY ON GAMEDAY FOR PARKING OR TAILGATING.
All attendees with reserved parking must have their
