Dodge brings collegiate coaching experience with him to GSU. From 2011 to 2013, serving as defensive coordinator at Stillman College. Dodge spent time in the SWAC, working as an assistant coach at Alabama State in 2009. Prior to his stint with the Hornets, he held the role of defensive coordinator at Fort Valley State from 2007 to 2009.Â
The East Brunswick, N.J. native also boasts experience coaching high school football, In 2005 Dodge served as head coach of Evangel Christian in Lakeland, Fla. leading the team to an 11–3 record and a state championship victory. He then coached a year at Victory Christian, leading the Storm to a 10–4 record and a state championship berth.Â
He also made head coaching stops at Mulberry High School in Mulberry, Fla. and Ridge Community High School in Davenport, Fla.
Dodge played college football under legendary head coach Bobby Bowden at Florida State from1985 to1989 before spending eight seasons in the NFL. He two Super Bowl rings as a player, winning Super bowl XXIX with the San Francisco 49ers and Super Bowl XXXII as a member of the Denver Broncos.Â
He also played one season in the World League of American football (NFL Europe) winning the 1991 Championship as a member of the London Monarchs, where GSU head coach Hue Jackson was on staff as a receivers coach. Â
Dodge played high school football at East Brunswick High School in east Brunswick, N.J. and Mulberry High School in Mulberry, Fla.Â
