Eshaunte Jones

Eshaunte Jones enters his seventh year coaching but his second year as an assistant men's basketball coach at Grambling State University. 

Jones comes to Grambling State after spending the past two years as the Associate Head Coach at Bossier Parrish Community College (La.). While at Bossier, he helped guide the team to a 19-12 team record. It was the program’s best finish in over 20+ years and finished ranked in the top 25 in the country for the first time in 20+ years. In addition, Jones had seven players sign Division I scholarships. 

Before Bossier Community College, Jones spent a year at Panola Community College (Texas) where he guided the team to a 20-12 record. Panola was ranked as a Top 10 team in the country in JUCO basketball and had five players sign Division I scholarships.

Prior to starting his college coaching career, Jones spent a year as a Director/Head Basketball Coach at International Sports Academy (Prep School) in Naples, Fla. He also spent two years as Assistant Basketball Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for Elev8 Sports Institute (Prep school) in Delray Beach, Fla. While at Elev8 Sport, the program was ranked top 5 nationally both years, and finished in the Elite 8 in the National Prep School Tournament (2015). The Program produced over 20 Division I basketball players. In addition at Elev8 Sports institute, Jones also worked as a Basketball Training Consultant for Ganon Baker NBA Pre-Draft in Delray Beach, Fla. where he recruited some of the highest ranked basketball players in the world preparing for the NBA Draft. 

PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL
Peñarol Basketball Club • Mar del Plata, Argentina - 2013-2014
Jones played professional basketball overseas and helped rank the team to No. 1 in the whole league through proven technique and skill. He was granted an eight-month contract to play professional basketball overseas. In addition, Jones helped team to No. 1 ranking in the Argentinean basketball league. Exhibited leaderships skills to help further the team’s success

  • Named to NABC Honors Court for academic performance. Graduated from NKU with a BS in Organizational leadership.

  • Jones is a native of Fort Wayne, Ind.
  • Spent 3 years at Fort Wayne Northside High school.
  • In 2008 he graduated from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham Virginia.
  • While at Hargrave, Hargrave was the Number 1 prep school in the country for basketball.
  • While at Hargrave Jones won a national championship.
  • Finished with a 26-0 record.
  • Scored over 1,800 points in his high school career.

  • While in high school, he was ranked top 50 in the country.
