Quianna Chaney enters her first season as a member of the Grambling State women’s basketball coaching staff.

A Baton Rouge native, she spent the past seven seasons as head coach at Southern University Lab School, where she built one of Louisiana’s top high school girls basketball programs.

Her teams captured the 2022 Louisiana State Championship and were state runners-up in 2023, earning back-to-back district titles.

Chaney was named District Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, and received the 2022 Stars of Stars Coach of the Year award.

Chaney played collegiate basketball at LSU from 2004 to 2008, finishing with 1,345 career points and ranking second in program history in three-pointers made and attempted.

She helped lead LSU to four consecutive NCAA Final Four appearances and earned multiple honors, including SEC All-Freshman, Academic All-SEC, and All-SEC First Team recognition.

In 2008, she was selected 19th overall in the WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky and later played professionally for Botas SK in Turkey’s Women’s Basketball League.
