Aaron Pitts is in his first year as assistant volleyball coach at Grambling State University.

Pitts, who has been involved in volleyball for more than 30 years, has experience ranging from player and program organizer to official and coach.

In 1988 he played for the Y.M.C.A. Metairie Jazz Volleyball Team and played for several seasons. In 1996, Pitts started officiating for the Sun Belt Conference Division I Women’s Volleyball. He is one of a few coaches in the South that has International volleyball experience; he was a line judge for the 1994 NORCECA Men’s Volleyball tournament held at the U.N.O Lakefront Arena.

Pitts’ coaching experience started in at Alcorn State University in 2006 as assistant women’s volleyball coach, and in 2007 as the second assistant women’s volleyball coach at Southern University. In 2008, Pitts was the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and was named the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Dillard University in 2010. While at Dillard, he helped guide the program to the GCAC Championship.
