Madison, WI --- The Grambling State Tigers basketball team put up a strong showing but despite a quick early lead they would suffer a, 79-46, loss to the Wisconsin Badgers in front of a crowd of 17, 301 tonight in the Kohl Center.
The Tigers were led by Donald Qualls' team high 15 points and Lance Fuertado's nine points, six rebounds and three steals. George Akpele added seven points.
The Badgers Trevon Hughes had a game high 20 points and seven rebounds. Jon Leuer and Jason Bohannon had 11 points and five rebounds each with Jordan Taylor adding 11 points and seven rebounds.
Despite struggling from the field shooting 29-percent, the Tigers had several bright spots including shooting 11 of 14 from the free throw line and recording 13 assists to only 11 turnovers. The Tigers also recorded nine steals.
Grambling will return to action December 11th when they travel to Amherst, Ma to take on the University of Massachusetts.
