Grambling, LA --- Grambling State University, 2008 Southwestern Athletic Conference and Black College National Champions, released today the 2009 Tiger's football schedule. The schedule will offer plenty of excitement for Tiger fans as it boasts four home games and four classics.
Grambling will open their season September 6th with their second trip to the SWAC/MEAC Challenge where they will face South Carolina in Orlando, FL. They will return home the following weekend for their home opener against Northwestern (September 12th, 6:00 PM) before hitting the road to face SWAC eastern Division foe, Jackson State (September 19th), 3:30 pm), in Jackson, MS. The Tigers will remain on the road for a first time trip to Stillwater, OK to face Oklahoma State (September 26th, 6:00 PM).
October will once again bring the annual State Fair Classic in Dallas when the Tigers battle the Prairie View A&M Panthers (October 3rd, 6:00 PM). Grambling will return home to host Alabama A&M (October 10th, 3:00 PM) before heading to the Crampton Bowl to face Alabama State in Montgomery (October 17th, TBA). Homecoming rounds out the month as the Delta Devils of Mississippi Valley are welcomed to town (October 31st, 2:00PM).
As the season wounds down the month of November will offer a full slate as Grambling travels to Little Rock, AR to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the Delta Literacy Classic (November 7th, 4:00 PM). The Tigers will return to Robinson Stadium for their home finale' against Texas Southern (November 12th, 7:00 PM) before rounding out the season against Southern in the XXXVII State Farm Bayou Classic (November 28th, 1:00 PM).
