PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Grambling State University volleyball team came up just a bit short on Sunday in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match as the Lady Tigers fell, 3-1, to Prairie View A&M at the William Nicks Building.

The Lady Tigers (13-19 overall, 7-7 SWAC) took the opening set, 25-21, but the Lady Panthers responded a 25-21 victory in the second set to even the match at 1. Prairie View A&M (5-17, 5-10) took the third set, 25-20, to grab a 2-1 advantage in the match. The Lady Panthers closed out the match with a 25-18 victory in the fourth set.

Chasity Nicks paced Grambling State with 10 kills and 11 digs.
Diemend Richardson and
L'Muriell Thrower each recorded 17 assists.
Erineka Mollere led the way defensively with 13 digs.

Taylor Goudeau led Prairie View A&M with 12 kills, while Erica Jimenez registered a match-high 40 assists. Christen Augustine tallied 20 digs, while Tatierra Johnson finished with 13 digs.

Inside the Numbers
· Grambling State finished the match with 40 kills, 45 digs, 38 assists, 10.0 total team blocks and three service aces.
· Prairie View A&M registered 54 kills, 56 digs, 50 assists, 4.0 total team blocks and three service aces.
· The Lady Tigers hit .200 in the opening set with 13 kills on 35 attempts.
· The Lady Panthers hit .256 in the fourth set with 15 kills on 39 attempts and just five errors.
· There were 35 ties, including 13 in the third set, and 17 lead changes, with seven of those coming in the third set.
