ARLINGTON, Texas | Jazmin Boyd and
Shakyla Hill combined for 36 points as the Grambling State University women's basketball team dropped a 74-58 decision on Tuesday night to UT-Arlington at the College Park Center.

The Lady Tigers (1-3) trailed, 15-13, at the end of one quarter and were outscored, 21-13, in the second as UT-Arlington took a 36-26 advantage into the second half. UT-Arlington outscored Grambling State, 22-9, in the third quarter before cruising to the 78-54 victory.

Boyd had the hot hand for Grambling State with 18 points, on 6-of-9 shooting, with three 3-pointers, along with three rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes of action. Hill registered 18 points, including 8-of-8 from the foul line, with five boards, four assists and three steals.
Camryn London came off the bench and provided 10 points, one rebound and one blocked shot.

Cierra Johnson paced UT-Arlington (2-1) with 14 points, on 5-of-8 shooting, with four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Misty Dossey recorded 13 points, a team-high eight boards and three steals, while Brooke Alexander tallied 12 points. Lauren Billie chipped in 10 points, three rebounds and one assist.

Turning Point
Grambling State led 9-7 after a jumper by Hill with 4:21 left in the opening period, but UT-Arlington used an 8-4 run to close out the first quarter with a 15-13 lead.

The Lady Mavs extended the margin to 24-17 after a jumper by Cierra Johnson with 5:45 left in the first half, but the Lady Tigers kept the game close and cut the deficit to 26-23 after a 3-pointer by
Camryn London with 3:31 remaining.

UT-Arlington used a 10-3 run over the final three minutes to take a 36-26 lead into the half.

Grambling State closed the gap to 41-34 early in the third quarter, but the Lady Mavs closed out the period on a 14-1 run to put the game away.

> Grambling State was 15-of-53 (28.3 percent) shooting and 19-of-28 (67.9 percent) from the charity stripe
> UT-Arlington shot 49.1 percent (27-of-55) from the field and 69.6 percent (16-of-23) from the free-throw line
