GRAMBLING, La. l The Grambling State University women's volleyball team fought valiantly but were defeated by Texas Southern University, 3-0, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match on Tuesday evening at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
"We will continue to work on our offensive-mental game. We will not stop working until we get it right," said head coach
Demetria Keys-Johnson. "We are Tigers and we will continue our hunt for success, one game at a time!"
Texas Southern (5-11, 4-3 SWAC) took all three games, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-21, to win the match.
Raven McKenzie paced Grambling State with seven kills and a solo dig, while
Chasity Nicks added six kills and six digs.
Alexis Austin tallied 12 kills and seven digs, while Danielle Lilley notched nine kills.

> Grambling State finished the match with 26 kills, 45 digs, 23 assists, 6.0 team blocks and no service aces
> Texas Southern registered 35 kills, 34 assists, 58 digs, 6.0 team blocks and two service aces
