MONTGOMERY, Ala.| In a make-up game due to COVID-19, three Grambling State Lady Tigers scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Alabama State University rallied in the final quarter to win 69-61, in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) battle Wednesday evening at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.
Grambling State (Overall 4-5, 3-2 SWAC) raced off to a double digit lead to end the first quarter, 25-10.

In the second period, Leah Morrow would get a lay-up with 7:24 remaining, that would give GSU their largest lead of the half, 29-17.
The Lady Hornets (5-1,5-1) would score 13 points in a row to take their first lead of the evening, 30-29. Grambling State battled back with a 9-2 run to close out the half as they led 38-32.
The SWAC rivals went toe to toe in the third quarter, with ASU winning the point battle, just slightly—18-17, but they still would trail 55-50 going into the final period.
ASU took their first lead in the fourth quarter, 57-56 after a three-pointer by Daklyah Sanders with 7:04 remaining. The Lady Hornets didn't look back as they closed out the game with a 19-6 run in the period to seal a 69-61 victory.

Alexus Holt tallied 10 of her 17 points in the first half and also added five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Justice Coleman was 6-of-9 from the field, registering 15 points, four rebounds and two steals. Leah Morrow added 14 points, one rebound, two assists and three steals. Jasmine Forte registered seven points, 11 rebounds and a game-high nine blocks.

Shmya Ward paced the Lady Hornets offense with a double-double and a game-high 19 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block. Tyesha Rudolph chipped in 18 points respectively, while Ayana Emmanuel registered 13 points, three rebounds and two assists in their win.
