GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State women's volleyball team dropped a heartbreaker to Prairie View A&M at home on Sunday evening as the Lady Tigers fell, 3-2, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
Prairie View A&M (8-25 overall, 7-8 SWAC) fell behind, 27-25, 25-11, before storming back with wins of 25-19, 25-18 and 15-12 to take the match.
The Lady Panthers completed the season sweep of Grambling State with the victory
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Tigers fought through for a tough first set victory, tying the score nine times before sealing the deal, 27-25
- In the second set, Grambling State dominated the Lady Panthers after going on an 11-0 run and leading 17-9

Semira Fields closed out the second set with a kill in the Lady Tigers 25-11 victory
- Grambling State (10-16, 7-8) started to struggle in set three as Prairie View A&M began to cut down the Lady Tigers' advantage

Gillian Jones tied the score at 11 for GSU before the Lady Panthers started to inch away
- Prairie View A&M went on a 3-0 run to steal set three, 25-19
-The Lady Tigers went back-and-forth with the Lady Panthers in an effort to seal the match, but a trio of errors allowed Prairie View A&M to pull away taking a 20-15 lead
- The Lady Tigers could not come back quick enough in dropping the fourth set, 25-18

- Grambling State took a 7-4 lead in the final set
- However, PVAMU was too much to handle in rallying for a 15-12 victory

- Grambling State finished with 56 kills, 26 errors, and 187 total attacks

Tamaira Johnson led the offense with 16 kills, four blocks and one ace
- Raven Mckenzie followed with 15 kills and two blocks

Kalee Cadwell recorded a double-double of 33 assists and 14 digs

Sheila Borders recorded 14 assists and 10 digs

- Jakarta Hope registered 34 assists

- The Lady Panthers finished with a total of 87 digs, 48 assists, and seven blocks
