GRAMBLING, La. | Kalee Cadwell registered a double-double in assists and digs as the Grambling State University women's volleyball team completed a season sweep of Texas Southern, 3-1, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match on Monday evening at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

Texas Southern (7-24 overall, 6-11 SWAC) took the first set, 28-26, before falling the rest of the way to Grambling State, 25-16, 25-17, and 27-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grambling State (11-16, 8-8) opened the first set with Texas Southern trailing, 20-15 
- TSU pulled away with the victory, 28-26
- GSU led Texas Southern the entire second set, coming out victorious, 25-16
- Grambling State topped Texas Southern again in the third set, 25-17, putting ten kills to get to a fourth
- Tamaira Johnson recorded back-to-back kills to give GSU a boost over TSU as Grambling State led, 16-13
- A GSU error allowed Texas Southern to tie the set at 18
- Grambling State closed out the match with a 27-25 victory

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grambling State finished with 55 kills, 21 errors, and 179 total attacks
- Tamaira Johnson led the offense with 16 kills and four blocks
- Kalee Cadwell recorded a double-double of 33 assists and 22 digs
- Jada Taylor ended the night with 30 digs and six assists
- GSU registered 104 digs, 51 assists and 12 total blocks
- TSU record a total of 93 digs, 46 assists, and eight total blocks 
- Danielle Lilley led TSU's offense with 12 kills, 18 digs, and three blocks
- Dallas Balanay-Flores recorded 19 assists for TSU
- Kaitlyn Scroggins registered 25 digs, seven assists and two aces
- Texas Southern finished with 49 kills, 28 errors, and 189 total attacks

UP NEXT
Grambling State advances to the SWAC Volleyball Tournament Championship as the No. 5 seed. The Lady TIgers will meet Alabama State, the fourth seed, on Friday in Huntsville, Ala. First serve for the quarterfinal match is set for 1:30 p.m.
