La. | The Grambling State University volleyball team dropped a thrilling match in five sets to Northwestern State, 3-2, on Wednesday night at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

The Lady Tigers sprinted to a 2-0 lead, but couldn't fend off the scrappy Lady Demons, as NSU claimed the final three sets.

How It Happened
- GSU (1-4) took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-21.
- In the opening frame, the Lady Tigers registered 13 kills with seven attacking errors.
- In the second set, GSU picked up just nine kills, but benefitted from 10 NSU (2-6) errors.
- Through the first two sets, NSU combined for 18 errors.
- The Lady Demons seized control of the match with a dominating performance in the third set, winning 25-13.
- In the third frame, NSU racked up 13 kills with just three errors.
- GSU dropped the final two sets 25-23 and 15-11.

- Piper Boydstun posted a game-high 30 assists
- NSU combined for 57 kills, 56 digs and 29 errors
- The Lady Demons committed nine service errors with three service aces
