COLLEGE STATION, Texas | The Grambling State University women's soccer team suffered a setback versus Texas A&M on Thursday night, falling 8-0 to the Aggies.
A&M used a six goal first half to outpace GSU and cruise to the victory.
Grambling State fell to 2-3-3 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Texas A&M's Georgia Leb got the Aggies on the board quickly with a goal in the 3rd minutes.
- Grambling State settled down on defense, keeping it 1-0 game for the next 25 minutes of the half.
- A&M seized control of the rest of the match, scoring seven unanswered goals.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Texas A&M outshot GSU 34-5. The Aggies placed 19 on goal, while the Tigers put four on frame.
- A&M held an 8-3 advantage on corner kicks.
- GSU committed 13 fouls. The Aggies committed 15.
- Both teams were whistled offsides twice.
- Madison Covey-Taylor made 10 saves for Grambling State. She played 75 minutes.
- Aimee Benton also saw action in goal for the Tigers, recording five saves.
