Jackson, Miss. | The Grambling State Univeristy women's basketball team fell to Jackson State 71-63 on Saturday afternoon at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center.
JSU (13-6 overall, 8-0 SWAC) stretched their lead out to as much as 8 in the second quarter, but Grambling (11-8 overall, 5-3 SWAC) would fight back to stay in the game. Heading into the half the score was 34-37 in a game with multiple lead changes.
Grambling had a balanced attack throughout the game having eight players contribute to the scoring efforts. Demya Young and
Amanda Blake led the way, scoring 14 and 13 respectfully.
Jackson State's Miya Crump led the way for her team scoring 19 points shooting 7-14 (50 percent) from the field. Alongside Angel Jackson who swatted away 6 shots and Ti'Lan Boler who pitched in 14 points.
Grambling would not regain the lead after giving it up midway through the second quarter.

Grambling State shot 23-63 (36.5 percent) from the field and 5-14 (35.7 percent) from deep, and 12-15 (80.0 percent) from the free throw line.
Jackson State shot 24-54 (44.4 percent) from the field including 8-20 (40.0 percent) from deep and 15-20 (75.0 percent) from the free throw line.
Grambling State scored 33 bench points, 26 points in the paint, and seven fastbreak points.
Jackson State had nine blocks and 31 defensive rebounds.
