GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team closed out its weekend homestand in dominant fashion, cruising to a 5–0 victory over Alabama State on Sunday afternoon at the GSU Soccer Complex.
With the win, Grambling improved to 7–6–5 overall and 4–0–3 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, extending its home unbeaten streak to seven matches.
Alabama State dropped to 2–15–1 overall and 1–6–0 in the league.
The Lady Tigers wasted no time setting the tone.
In the eighth minute, 
Alana Aiken opened the scoring, finishing a setup from 
Liana Bryant to make it 1–0.
Grambling doubled its lead in the 33rd minute when 
Nyla Dore-Anderson slotted home a pass from 
Giulia Altomare.
Just before halftime 
Layla Jackson made it 3–0 with her first goal of the season, assisted by 
Kaia Bace and 
Mariyah Bumgarner.
The offensive pressure continued immediately after the break.
Only 90 seconds into the second half, 
Sophia Lezizidis buried a shot off assists from 
Aubrey Salazar and Aiken to stretch the advantage to 4–0.
Chloe Bryant capped the scoring in the 83rd minute, converting a pass from Dore-Anderson to seal the 5–0 win.
Grambling dominated statistically, outshooting Alabama State 19–5, including 12 shots on goal.
The Lady Tigers also held a 9–0 edge in corner kicks, maintaining control throughout the match.

Kaia Bace registered four saves.
