CHICAGO, Ill. | Grambling State started fast but couldn't overcome a cold second quarter, falling 67–51 to Campbell on Saturday afternoon at Wintrust Arena.
The Tigers led 19–17 after the first behind strong play from
Monica Marsh and
Arianna Mosley, but an 0-for-8 shooting stretch in the second period allowed Campbell to take a 37–21 lead into halftime.
GSU showed fight in the second half, sparked by threes from
D'Mya Griffin and
Zaria Johnson in the third.
Shaniah Nunn delivered a late push with 11 points nine in the fourth quarter, while
Alieghya Bartholomew added six points off the bench.
Campbell maintained control with balanced scoring and 49 percent shooting.
Nunn led Grambling State with 11 points and four rebounds. Prien added six boards, five steals, and three assists.
The Tigers forced 29 turnovers and tallied 16 steals but shot 28.3 percent from the field.
