Grambling State Battles Late but Falls 74–60 at Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. | Grambling State put together one of its most balanced offensive efforts of the season and made a strong second-half push, however an explosive second quarter from Louisiana Tech proved too much to overcome in a 74–60 road loss Tuesday night at the Thomas Assembly Center.

The Lady Tigers moved to 1–8 on the year, while LA Tech improved to 5–3.

Grambling opened well trading early baskets and trailing just 16–15 after the first quarter.

The second period swung the game dramatically, Louisiana Tech shot 57 percent in the frame and outscored GSU 24–10 to build a 40–25 halftime lead.

The Tigers responded in the third quarter with their best stretch of the night.

Marsh's pair of threes ignited the Tigers momentum.

Johnson followed with a deep make that helped pull Grambling within eight midway through the quarter.

GSU continued to attack the rim and apply pressure defensively, forcing multiple turnovers to keep the game within reach.

The Bulldogs interior play and timely shooting including six made threes, allowed them to hold a double-digit cushion throughout the fourth quarter and close out the win.

Shaniah Nunn powered Grambling State with 22 points and 10 rebounds, marking a dominant double-double on 8-of-18 shooting and an 6-of-8 effort at the line.

Marsh followed with 16 points, including four three-pointers, while Johnson added seven.

Grambling State finished 21-of-62 (33.9%) from the field and knocked down six threes.

Louisiana Tech shot 47.4 percent and placed four players in double figures, led by Jordan Marshall's 20 points.
