HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Grambling State saw its three-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday evening, falling 55–50 to Alabama A&M in Southwestern Athletic Conference action at the AAMU Event Center.
Grambling State battled throughout the contest but trailed 16–10 after the opening quarter.
Alabama A&M extended its advantage in the second period, taking a 37–25 lead into halftime.
The Lady Tigers responded in the third quarterr outscoring the Bulldogs 15–10 to cut into the deficit and pull within striking distance entering the final frame.
Grambling State continued to fight in the fourth quarter but could not complete the comeback as Alabama A&M held on for the five-point victory.
Douthshine Prien led Grambling State with a team-high 15 points while shooting 9-of-12 from the free-throw line.
Alieghya Bartholomew added 10 points off the bench, and
Shaniah Nunn grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.
Alabama A&M was paced by Kaila Walker who scored a game-high 19 points.
