Grambling State senior outside hitter, Kayla Williams, was named to the 2009 All-Southwestern Athletic Conference volleyball team in a release from the conference media relations office.
Williams, a native of Toronto, Canada, led the Lady Tigers and ranked fourth in SWAC in kills with 289. She also recorded 23 severs ace's with 196 digs and 39 blocks.
Named to the SWAC All-Western Division team Williams led a group that dominated the divisional awards which included; Shawonna Davis (5-11, Jr., MB), Chelsey Goins (5-3, Fr., Cedar Hill, TX) and DaVarika Johnson (5-9, Sr, S).
Williams and Goins were both named to the SWAC tournament All-Tournament team. In 2008
Williams was also named All-Conference and to the conference All-Tournament team.
