GRAMBLING, Louisiana (March 27th, 2013) – After a tough weekend at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Round-Up over the weekend in Texas, the Lady Tiger Softball team will open up Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Western divisional play against Texas Southern this weekend in Houston.
Last season Grambling was swept by Texas Southern in three tough games. This year, the Lady Tigers will need their bats to be hot against Texas Southern. The series will begin on Good Friday with one game at 2 p.m. and will conclude on Saturday with a double header , which will begin at 3 p.m..
GSU will try to get back on the winning track as they lost four tough games in Longview at the SWAC Round up. The Lady Tigers have struggled with their pitching, but the bats were hot against Alabama State over the weekend. GSU scored nine runs against the Lady Hornets, but lost a tough game by the score 11-9. The Lady Tigers will still have one game to make up from the Round up against Alcorn as the rain came in and prevented them from finishing the contest.
The Lady Tigers have been on the road for more than a month and will play inside the confines of Lady Tiger Field April 1
st when they face Nicholls State at 1 p.m.
