GRAMBLING, Louisiana (April 4, 2013) – This weekend the Grambling State University  Lady Tiger softball team will host their first Southwestern Athletic Conference divisional series against the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff.  The series will start with a double header on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and the final game of the series will be on Sunday at 1 p.m.

This series has been close over the last three years as the Lady Tigers have won five games and lost four to the Lady Golden Lions.  Last season, all three games in the series were close.  In the two losses to UAPB last season, both games were decided by one run.  Over the last three seasons GSU has two shutouts as they won 2-0 in 2011 and 4-0 in 2010 and sweeping the series that season.

This season the Lady Tigers have had a tough start as they have had to fight adversity with injuries.  The Lady Tigers are 0-3 in the division and struggled in the SWAC Round Up in Longview last month. The Lady Tigers are in the midst of a ten game home stand.
