Box Score Grambling, La.--The Lady Tigers fell short in a close matchup against Prairie View A&M's volleyball team Tuesday night in the Men's Gym (22-25,25-22, 25-23, 29-27).

"I saw a group of young ladies with great chemistry working together as a whole," said head Grambling State University volleyball coach
Demetria Keys-Johnson. "(Last night) every player made the commitment to go out ant fight."

Through out the game, the audience witnessed both teams battling it out to earn every point. The leaders for the Lady Tigers were No. 1
Kiara Finley, No. 17
Briliante Osborne and No. 8
Maya Lucas. Finley had a total of 13 kills and 15 digs, while Osborne had 10 kills and Lucas with nine. Osborne also assisted with eight blocks and Lucas assisted with six.

The Lady Panthers' top leaders were No. 19 Candyce Alexander, No. 11 Mariah Cox and No. 14 Jasmine Lewis. Both Alexander and Cox had 15 kills. Lewis had nine kills and one dig.

After the game Johnson believed that the Lady Tigers accomplished one of the team's goals, "show love for one another through hard work and effort." But, Johnson noted that the team fell short from a key element.

"Staying discipline to our assignments throughout the course of the game," said Johnson. "Our discipline is what is beating us not our opponents."

This is one thing that Johnson and the team would like to accomplish at the their next game against Mississippi Valley State Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Men's Gym.
