Lady Tigers Drop Conference Competition to Prairie View A&M University

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 GRAMBLING, La. – The Grambling State University Lady Tigers softball team took the field as the home team at the Lady Tigers Softball Field on Saturday afternoon, as they looked to tame the visiting Lady Panthers of Prairie View A&M University. Despite being back in familiar territory on the diamond, GSU dropped a 1-2 decision this weekend.
 
Prairie View took two of the three-game series, 12-1 and 6-17. Grambling State University secured the first- game victory of the series 6-4 on Saturday.
 
Game One:
 
Grambling State started scoring in the first inning to tie the game 2-2.
Nicolette Wunderly's double brought home Nicole Ene and Chasity Thomas, recording two runners batted in. In the bottom of the third, Briana Carmouche's single tied the competition for the second time (4-4), bringing home Brianna  Maiden. Grambling State University secured its final two points in the bottom of the fourth inning of the competition, claiming the (6-4) victory.
 
Game Two:

Grambling struggled in game two, but the outcome was in favor of PVAMU. The Lady Panthers secured an early 6-0 lead in the first two innings. The Lady Tigers added its first and final point of the competition in the bottom of the third with Drew Hernandez-Thompson scoring. The GSU Lady Tigers couldn't hold off PV, who answered with six more points in the remaining two innings of the competition, securing the victory 12-1.
 


Game Three:
 
Grambling and Prairie View went into game three ready to play, but the outcome was in favor of PVAMU.  Prairie View scored first, with adding nine points in the first three innings of the competition. Grambling State University answered with two points in the bottom of the fourth inning, making the score 9-2. The Lady Tigers added two more points to the board in the bottom of the fifth inning with Brianna Madien and Alexus Brown scoring. Prairie View then answered with two more points in the sixth inning. Grambling State added its final two points in the bottom of the sixth inning, making the score 12-6. The GSU Lady Tigers couldn't hold off PV, who answered with five more points in the remaining inning of the competition, securing the victory 6-17.


 Next, the Lady Tigers will play its final home game of the season as they host Louisiana Tech on Wednesday, April 29 at 4 p.m.
