Box Score DECATUR, Ala. – Southern University and A&M College beat Grambling State University Thursday afternoon at Wilson Morgan Park, 4-1.
The first score of the game came in the third inning as Nicole Ene used a single, a ground out to second and a sacrifice bunt to cross home plate. The Jaguars matched the Tigers efforts by scoring a runs in the fourth to tie the game, 1-1. Southern continued its progress with two scores in the fifth and one in the seventh to take victory, 4-1.
The Jaguars grabbed a total of four strikeouts, 11 hits, four RBI, 21 putouts and 10 assists. The Tigers collected three hits, one RBI, 21 putouts, 13 assists and one strikeout. Alicia Barajas managed a game-high two runs.
The Lady Tigers finished the season with an 9-29 record, but the team will look to improve on the strides they made this season as they head into next season. ###
