Monroe, La. – (February 7, 2013) The Grambling State University Lady Tigers' Softball team traveled to Monroe, Louisiana to take part in the University of Louisiana at Monroe  Mardi Gras Classic. In game one of the Classic, the Lady Tigers dropped a tough 6-0 decision to the the Lady Gauchos of the University of California Santa Barbara,
 
 The Lady Tigers" only went to the plate 23 times in the game.  GSU was held to one walk,  had nine strikeouts and left six runners on base. Mikiesha Henson, Jasmyn Dunning and Alyssa Fontillas had one hit each to aid Grambling.
 
UCSB had several players with multiple hits and runners batted in, however Kathryn Pilpil had three at bats, three hits, two runners batted in and one run.
 
The Lady Tigers will face the host institution, University of Louisiana Monroe in less than half an hour (6:10 p.m.).
