Box Score GRAMBLING, La. – The Grambling State University Lady Tigers' domination on the court secured a 75-56 victory over the Lady Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center Saturday.
In a game that featured a pair of defenses that like to pressure the ball and force turnovers, Grambling was able to come out on the better end. The Lady Tigers forced 24 Lady Golden Lion turnovers on four steals.
Three Lady Tigers scoring in double digits helped them dominate UAPB in the second half. Junior
Shakierya McClendon had a game-high 27 points and six boards while also shooting 3-for-7 from the free throw line. Freshmen
Klintisha Martin finished 7-for-17 from the field adding 17 points while Neal contributed12 points and four rebounds.
Chelsey Johnson led GSU on the boards with 10 and dished out a team high five assists.
The Lady Tigers (6-13, SWAC 3-5) will return to the court at 5:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2
nd as they host Mississippi Valley State University (3-16, SWAC 1-7) in a Southwestern Athletic Conference match- up in the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
