The Grambling State University Lady Tigers continue SWAC conference play on the road Saturday (January 30) against the Lady Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 5 p.m.

The Lady Tigers (8-10; 5-2 SWAC) have been successful on the road with a 3-1 conference record. The team had a convincing win against Jackson State University last weekend (January 23), winning 79-58. Head women's basketball coach Nadine Domond and the team want to build on that momentum as they aim to win in Pine Bluff. The Lady Lions (4-14; 1-6 SWAC) are coming off of two losses on the road and are looking to defend on their home court.

The Lady Tigers are shooting exceptionally well from the field with a 45.1% field goal percentage. Led by freshman guard Shakayla Hill, the Lady Tigers have the best scoring offense in the SWAC with 65.9 points per game. The Lady Lions have struggled from the field with a 38.3% field goal percentage. The Lady Lions' leading scorers, senior Diamond Richardson and sophomore Destiny Brewton, will ramp up their play as they face GSU freshman guards Hill and Jazmine Boyd. Hill averages 11 points per game and leads the Lady Tigers in 9 categories. Right behind Hill with 10 points per game is Boyd, who was recently named SWAC Player of the Week then SWAC Co-Player of the Week after a couple of explosive scoring weeks.

The Lady Tigers rank in the top five of the conference for most blocked shots and steals per game. GSU will want to take advantage of the Lady Lions, a team with an average of 17.2 turnovers per game. Turnovers have been key for Grambling State. Just last week turnovers were a key factor in the Lady Tigers win over Jackson State, scoring 32 points off of turnovers alone.  Both teams are tied ranking 7th in best defense for the conference.
