GRAMBLING, La. (Women's basketball) -- A sixth-place Southwestern Athletic Conference ranking places the Grambling State University Lady Tigers in striking position to sprint up the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings as the sleeper team.
The Lady Tigers (6-12, 4-3 SWAC) have two conference losses by a combined five points. They are coming off a 90-85, win over Jackson State. One of the Lady Tigers Big 3,
Monisha Neal had her best game in a GSU uniform. Neal dropped a career high 26 points and career high 11 rebounds.

Shakyla Hill and
Jazmin Boyd are ballers. Hill is the team's leading scorer averaging 15.7 points followed by Boyd with 12.6 points. Hill ranks third amongst SWAC scoring leaders, second in steals and fourth in assists.
UAPB (6-12, 3-4 SWAC) on a two-game win streak stunned Texas Southern University, 49-45, and cruised past Prairie View, 64-47. They are led by two 10 point scorers in Niya Head and Destiny Brewton.
MVSU is also on a two-game win streak after beating PVAMU, 64-55, and skimmed past Texas Southern, 75-74. Ashely Beals leads the Delta Devilettes in both points in rebounds their last three games. Beals is the team's second leading averaging 13.3 points per game and MVSU leading scorer is Christina Reed with 17.5 points.
Grambling State will host consecutive home games against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. and Mississippi Valley State University on Monday Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. Fans can see a live stream of the game at:
